MOUNTAIN CENTRAL BOARD OF REALTORS®

Before You Apply

Before you apply for membership with the Mountain Central Board of REALTORS® and/or Mountain Central MLS:

1.  MCBR has a one-join, all-join policy.  This means that if one agent in an office joins, all licensed agents in that office must also join the MLS.

2.  All new offices must be approved by the MCBR Board of Directors (BOD) at the regular monthly meeting before MLS access will be granted.  That meeting is usually held on the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month so all applications and fees for all licensed agents in that office must be turned into the MCBR office by noon (12:00) on the previous Tuesday to be considered at the Wednesday morning meeting.  On rare occasion the meeting date may be changed so please contact the office to verify the date if necessary.

3. Proof of license must also accompany the application and fees to the BOD meeting.  If a license does not appear on the IREC website for both office and agents/broker, proof that the licenses have been issued will be required.  The application will not be presented to the BOD for approval without proof of license and will be held until the following month’s meeting and so on, until license can be verified on the IREC website or proof is provided.  Following the initial approval for the office, agents joining an office in good standing will be granted membership as soon as forms, fees and proof of license are received.

4.  MLS Join Fees:  MCBR has a one-time office join fee of $1,000.00 and a one-time per agent/broker join fee of $300.00 for uninterrupted service.  These one-time fees also permit an agent to change to inactive status for up to 6 months before fees will be collected again at reactivation.  Monthly MLS dues of $10.00 for the office and $25.00 agent/broker will be billed monthly to the broker.

4.  Must I join the Mountain Central Board of REALTORS®?  An office and broker/agent must be a REALTOR® (member of NAR, IAR and a local board) in good standing to join the MCBR MLS:

  • If your office and broker are Primary members of a different local board in Idaho already then Board membership is not required.
  •  If your broker is a Primary member of MCBR only, then you must join MCBR as a Primary member.
  • If your broker also holds Board membership in another local Board in Idaho you may join that Board as a Primary Board member and still be granted MLS membership.  In this case you also have the choice of joining MCBR as a Secondary Member.

Please contact the MCBR office for prorated dues for joining NAR, IAR & MCBR and to determine proper membership status if you are uncertain, as well as for any other questions or concerns.

To apply for an active membership in the Mountain Central Board of Realtors, you will need to fill out the following: Membership Application - Member Data Sheet - New Office Data Sheet. These forms need to be mailed to along with a check. This check will be returned to you in the event of non-election.
Forms, Code of Ethics, MLS Rules and Board Bylaws can be found here.
